Mahira Homes allotees stage protest at project site

The cancellation of licence has left more than 1500 homebuyers in the lurch.

In a protest against Mahira homes, approximately 100 allotees gathered at the project site on Sunday, demanding possession of their homes. The protesting allotees raised slogans against the developer and pleaded to the DTCP officials to step in and give them an assurance about possession of their homes.

Earlier, The Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) has cancelled the licence granted to Mahira homes, an affordable housing project in Sector 68. It was in the year 2017, when the licence for the affordable group housing colony was granted to Mahira Infratech Pvt Ltd (formerly known as Sai Aaina Farms Pvt Ltd).

The cancellation of licence has left more than 1500 homebuyers in the lurch. A point worth mentioning here is that majority of home buyers have already paid 100% of the amount to the developer and were awaiting possession.
