Illegal Colonies Razed in Sohna

The colonies were in the revenue estate of villages Silani, Sancholi and Lakuwas in Sohna.

Around 14 acres of prime agricultural land in Sohna having four illegal colonies has been razed by the enforcement team of town and country planning department (DTCP).

“During the drive, the department demolished more than 50 structures and 4.5 km road network in these colonies which were constructed in violation of Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act. The colonies were in the revenue estate of villages Silani, Sancholi and Lakuwas in Sohna,” said district town planner (enforcement) Amit Madholia.

Under the new system, the landowners have to apply for no objection certificate (NOC) for registration of areas falling under Section 7A of Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975.As per the section, registration of sale deed of a plot having a size less than 1 acre is not allowed without an NOC from the DTCP.
