The DTCP’s enforcement wing has sealed eight residential units in DLF 1 areas for running commercial activities without mandatory permissions. Previously, DTCP had sealed more than 50 properties in upscale residential colonies for building norm violations.

The department sealed eight housing units where owners were running commercial activities, confirmed District town planner (enforcement) Manish Yadav. During the drive, owners of eight residential properties applied for permission to operate commercial activities under the non-nuisance activity rules and around 12 units where commercial activities were going on were found vacant during the inspection.

Yadav said even during the sealing drive, some property owners were found closing their units in the residential area and vacating the premises.

The department is fully focused on illegal commercial activities in DLF Phase 1, 2, 3, 4, Sushant Lok 1, 2, 3, Suncity, Vatika India Next and South City - 1, 2. Officials further said that the effect of the sealing campaign has started showing on the ground as well.

Meanwhile, the residents have been complaining about overburdened infrastructure due to unauthorised construction and illegal commercial activities on residential plots.
